3. THE BEAUTIFUL LOOKING PITCHER

There is this story of a beautiful looking plant, shaped like a tall pitcher, which though very attractive means death to insects and bugs - small at the bottom and larger at the top. It secretes a fluid that attracts insects, and which they find delicious. Drawn by the compelling fragrance of the fluid, various bugs, files, and insects enter the mouth of the "pitcher" and begin feasting on the tasty liquid. Desiring more, these unsuspecting creatures crawl further down into the pitcher plant. Tiny slippery, downward-pointing spikes on the inside of the pitcher do not hinder downward progress, but they block the way out. When an insect tries to climb back up, these slippery spikes resist every effort - escape is impossible! Finally, exhausted, the struggling bug falls to the bottom of the pitcher, where it is drowned and destroyed by the very fluid that it so desired! Do you get the picture? That feeling of being entrapped in the sins that you so desired to commit? My friend, where are you? Are you in Satan's bondage, chasing his sweet -tasting, deceiving sin? Or are you saved-set free from sin by Jesus Christ -and serving Him? Take some lessons to learn from the stories above.
Swimming in the ocean of sin?  Living contrary to the commandments and will of God? – indeed, this would mean, living in darkness and treading on a very thin ice; living on the very edge of eternal destruction. For God has warned us that “The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 6:23.

. If you are still living in sin, it is not too late. You can make a U-turn, right now and choose Eternal Life. God will abundantly pardon. Stop running away from your maker and turn to him for mercy and pardon. Rest for your soul is guaranteed. The promises: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us of all unrighteousness”1 John 1:9.
“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. though they be red as crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” Isaiah 1:18-19.
